Exciting New Activites for 2009

KIDS for the BAY invites you to join us for a fun filled week of hands-on science in the outdoors, studying the local environment of the San Francisco Bay Area.  Get ready for playful investigation and scientific adventure!

Download the 2009 Camp Brochure.Our professional and experienced KIDS for the BAY staff create a safe learning community for all campers.  A maximum of 16 children are enrolled per session.  The camp ratio is one staff member per six children.

Camps meet at a different site each day.  Parents are responsible for drop-off and pick-up of campers.  KIDS for the BAY will provide a bus for the trip to the ocean (eight to ten year old camp).

How to Register

Aquatic Science Adventure Camp,
East Bay

Young scientists will explore the ecology of lakes, creeks, and the San Francisco Bay.

Ages 5-7

Dates:
6/15 – 6/19
6/22 – 6/26
7/06 – 7/10

Time: 9am – 4pm
Price: $305/week

 

Campers aged five to seven will:

★ Explore the intertidal zone ★ Investigate insects ★ Create nature art ★ Dissect squid ★ Fish for crabs ★ Play nature games…and more!

Sites include the watery Berkeley habitats of Jewel Lake, the Berkeley Marina, Strawberry Creek, and Lake Anza.

Ages 8-10

6/15 – 6/19
6/22 – 6/26
7/06 – 7/10
7/13 – 7/17
7/20 – 7/24

Time: 9am – 4pm
Price: $335/week

New field trip to the Pacific Ocean!

 

Young scientists aged eight to ten will:

★ Explore aquatic ecosystems ★ Investigate native plants ★ Test water quality ★ Observe and collect arthropods ★ Study Bay geography ★ Take a trip to the Pacific Ocean…and more!

Campers will complete detailed investigations of creek, bay, and ocean habitats and learn how to take action to help solve some of the issues affecting their local environment.

Sites include Jewel Lake, Lake Anza, and the Berkeley Marina in Berkeley; Wildcat Creek in Richmond; and Muir or Rodeo Beach in Marin. Bus transportation will be provided from Berkeley for the ocean field trip.


Aquatic Science Adventure Camp,
San Francisco

Young scientists will explore the ecology of the Bay shoreline, dunes, and forests within the Presidio in San Francisco.

Price: $305/week

Sites are within the Presidio and include Crissy Field, Julius Kahn Playground, and Baker Beach.
