2008 Summer Camp |

KIDS for the BAY invites you to join us for a fun
filled week of hands-on science in the outdoors,
studying the local environment of the San Francisco
Bay Area. Get ready for playful investigation and
scientific adventure.
Our professional and experienced KIDS for the BAY
staff creates a safe learning community for all
campers. A maximum of 16 children are enrolled per
session. The camp ratio is one staff per eight children.
Camps meet at a different site each day. Parents
are responsible for drop-off and pick-up of campers.

Children age 5-7 will fish for
crabs, study dragonflies, make plant art, experiment
with estuary water, build and race natural boats,
sculpt animals out of clay, enjoy hikes, play
nature games, and more in the watery Berkeley
habitats of Lake Anza, Jewel Lake, Strawberry
Creek, and the Berkeley Marina.

Children age 8-10
will explore local aquatic ecosystems, investigate
native plants, test water quality, build sand
castles and travel on the Call of the Sea sailboat
around the San Francisco Bay to study the animals
and plants living in the open water. They will
complete detailed investigations of bay, estuary
and creek habitats and learn how to take action
to help solve some of the issues affecting their
local environment. Sites will include The Berkeley
Marina, Wildcat
Creek, and Lake Anza. |
