Mandi Billinge, Executive Director
Mandi Billinge founded KIDS for the BAY and has directed program development and organization expansion for the past seventeen years. Mandi has a B.S. Honors Degree in Biology from England, specializing in freshwater and estuarine ecology, a Teaching Credential from Leeds University, England and the Development Director's Certificate from the University of San Francisco.
Sheela Shankar, Associate Director
Sheela Shankar has an M.S. in Education from CSU East Bay, specializing in environmental science education, and a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies. Sheela is in her ninth year with KIDS for the BAY and is responsible for hiring and supervising program staff, managing program evaluations, fundraising and government contract management, and assisting in organizational and program development.
Krista Mendelsohn, Program Director
Krista Mendelsohn has a Master's Degree in Biological Science Education from San Diego State University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from UC San Diego. She grew up in the East Bay and joined KftB in fall 2007 after working in the San Diego science and environmental education community. Krista is responsible for supervising program staff, and managing and teaching KftB programs.
Jonah Landor-Yamagata, Program Director
Jonah Landor-Yamagata is a native of the East Bay and has a Bachelor's
Degree in Environmental Studies with a focus on Agroecology and Community
from UC Santa Cruz. Jonah worked in school garden programs in Berkeley elementary
schools before joining KftB in September 2007. Jonah is Spanish bilingual
and is responsible for managing and teaching KftB programs.

Deborah Zierten, Program Director
Deborah Zierten is an East Bay native and has a Master's
Degree in Environmental Education from Southern Oregon University. Deborah
is Spanish bilingual and became interested in environmental education and
environmental justice issues through living and working in the rainforests
in Ecuador. Deborah is responsible for managing and teaching KftB programs.

Chanthy An, Program Coordinator
Chanthy An started working with KftB in fall 2009. Chanthy has a B.S. in Environmental Geography from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and has many years of experience in environmental education through her past jobs at the Headlands Institute, Hayward Unified School District, and National Park Service. Chanthy is fluent in Cambodian and comes to KftB with a strong commitment to multicultural environmental education and environmental/social justice. Chanthy is responsible for teaching KftB programs.

Kristen Bunting, Office & Development Assistant
Kristen joined KftB in fall 2009 and has experience in both office management and non-profit fundraising/development. She is currently pursuing a degree in Biology from Contra Costa College and plans to become an environmental educator. Kristen is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our office and assisting with fundraising tasks.
